My name is Nicola and I suffered from panic attacks for nearly 20 years. They started in 1979 at a time when there wasn’t even a name for the agony I was going through. I had a small child that I couldn’t even bathe when I was alone. I was too scared she might drown if I needed to run out of the room leaving her on her own in the bath. I really did just want to give up. The only thing that kept me going was the thought that I might have my little girl taken away from me. That was just too unbearable to consider so I tried to put aside thoughts that I was having a nervous breakdown, and needed to be put away in a dark padded room, and struggled on as best I could.
I hung on for dear life through the iron grip of several panic attacks every day and really don’t know how my body coped with all that stress, day in and day out. But it did.
It's called EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques, and now more commonly known as simply, tapping. EFT is based on tapping Chinese acupuncture points.
